When are you drifting from all that is good in your life? A television evangelist recently said that we begin to drift from God when we drift from fellowshipping with other Christians, when we quit telling others about Jesus, and when we stop thinking about reading our Bible. The current of this society is always flowing away from God and that is exactly where our hearts will follow if we DRIFT and don't pay attention. I have drifted so many times in my life, sometimes for days, sometimes for years. And it so subtle, it begins with a thought, then usually just a comment, that leads to an action, that leads to a decision, that leads to a direction away from God's perfect plan for my life. The evangelist asked what I would be willing to do to enjoy God's best for my life. There is nothing better than God's perfect plan planned before my birth, before I decided to go my own way. Like Burger King, having it my own way, usually winds up with my having too much, too much cholesterol, fat, it tasted good at first, but like life's pursuit of pleasure, it is only a temporary fix. God is the only permanent "fix" in our lives. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." We should follow his stream, and stop drifting. There IS a river that leads to everlasting life and Jesus holds the ticket.
